A new strain of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) infectious disease was detected in Wuhan, China and first reported to the World Health Organization (WHO)
Country Office in China on 31 December 2019.
COVID-19 behaves like a flu virus but ten times as worse.
Most recover, but those with underlying health conditions are at a greater risk of a severe to a critical case of the virus infection, sometimes resulting in death.
Every 100 years or so, there is a global pandemic caused by a virus classified as a Novel Virus. A Novel virus in its worst state of mutation can kill humans. They adapt quickly, and a vaccine takes years of development before it can be used on a mass scale for human inoculation.
COVID-19 was declared a Public Health Emergency of International Concern
on January 30, 2020.
The World Health Organization on February 11, 2020, announced a name for the new coronavirus disease: COVID-19.
Let’s change gears a minute or so -if- you don’t mind.
I picked up a bug mid-February (in the U.S.) while working in someone’s house, painting rooms. The woman’s home I painted in, she said her doctor told her she had the common flu. I don’t want to mention that I’m a tobacco smoker but I am . Mercifully I recovered from being sick to where I could go back to work after a six to seven day period. I could say, I inhaled that nasty plant (-tobacco-but not as much as I did daily) while I was sick, but I don’t want to. -Oh wait, I just did-
It’s strange how I’ve been able to do that, even in my younger days.
Uh excuse me, I’m feeling a bit of anxiety at this moment. Lol.
After a 10 minute regroup, we have to back up a bit about me being in the US, many would say “COVID-19 wasn’t in the US then.”
We don’t know that.
Even with this CDC.gov information:
On February 26, 2020, COVID-19 cases had been identified in 36 other countries and territories, including the United States.
To be exact my infection started somewhere around the dates of Jan. 30th – Feb. 7th. Diving in a little about my infection and the symptoms I experienced gave me thought I was undergoing the common flu. Yeah, no matter what, it sucked. But the days and months before I got sick I wasn’t feeling all that great anyway. I had a sharp pain in my left arm, I was dealing with severe allergies for up to 26 years. By the way, the allergy product Flonase saved me. -that for another time-
Astonishingly when I recovered from the infection, my allergy condition was gone.
The arm syndrome was improved, not gone, but much improved, the pain has subsided significantly. Who couldn’t ask for more? Thank you.
I went ten days without any Flonase or any other allergy medicine. Now it’s down to every 3 days, sometimes longer. I don’t know what happened, but it appears like getting sick fixed me to a point where I felt better and a little younger -if you will-.
No, I haven’t been tested for COVID-19.
I never sought medical attention during the duration of my infection.
Anyways let’s take a look at some statistics.
COVID-19 as of the time of this writing has infected over half of million people worldwide thus far. Some projections have said, COVID-19 potentially could kill
2.2 million before it fades out.
More cases of COVID-19 are likely to be identified in the United States in the coming days, including more instances of community spread. CDC expects that widespread transmission of COVID-19 in the United States will occur. In the coming months, most of the U.S. population will be exposed to this virus.
I’m not trying to make a connection with the timing of my infection and the announcement of COVID-19 -BUT- how come I have to be in this category of a *quintessential sublime objective.
Timing like this has occurred repeatedly throughout my life. Its a strange world.
I’m going to work Monday (E.S.T.)
I’ll be going back to the county where I first picked up that bug.
Gratefully this time the house is empty.
Proclamations and orders issued by Governor Larry Hogan related to COVID-19.
COVID-19 has been reported in 150 countries throughout the Earth.
(at the time of this writing the numbers would have climbed higher)
Global efforts at this time are focused concurrently on lessening the spread and impact by implementing country lockdowns, city lockdowns, social distancing, and dis-infecting entire cities.
The shutting down of countries (the world) due to an invisible enemy is unprecedented. All hell broke loose in the global markets.
10¹² dollars ( as defined on the short scale) will flood the US economy from the US government to provide aid and relief due to the massive lose’s of funds caused by the coronavirus.
Here are some links that provide the current worldwide count of coronavirus cases:
I thought I would add this link, its a .pdf about the genomic characterization and epidemiology of the 2019 novel coronavirus:
(implications for virus origins and receptor binding)
Corona-virus’s and Bat’s.
This is my report and I hope I still have many day’s to go on this planet,
I intend to keep doing my part as a citizen of the earth and practice the CDC guidelines to the best of my ability.
Be safe and go carefully my fellow earthling’s.
We will get through this.
I’m thankful I’ve been able to endure this crisis thus far.
Even though I can venture off to work, I really don’t want to.
I said I was going to work so at least I’ll push through Monday and then see what happens. Peace.
I believe the USA could have been better prepared for this crisis and currently, our nation’s hospitals aren’t equipped to handle the influx of COVID-19 patients.
* a coincidence
3\30\2020 – Today Maryland’s Governor ordered everyone “Stay-Home” in by 8:00PM
4\01\2020 – April Fools Day, but this is no joke. On this day The P.O.T.U.S. called
COVID-19 a plague. Back in late February, early March I had that thought and if my memory servers me correctly, I spoke the word as well.
April 8th to the 16th is Passover. I just can’t get it off my mind.
And I’m not even Jewish. Not that that has anything to do with anything. 🙂
